Today, Lauwerecht as a neighborhood is part of the sub-district Votulast, whose name is a collection of the first two letters of the neighborhoods Vogelenbuurt, Tuinwijk, Lauwerecht and Staatsliedenbuurt. Lauwerecht was formed by development on the east bank of the Vecht, from the Utrecht city center.
